wine: what is the deal with gecko?
« on: June 03, 2010, 07:54:41 PM »
When I start wine, it attempts to download gecko but it never succeeds. Can I manually download it and place it in the file system? I have looked at the wine site and it describes 2 locations for the gecko cab file but neither seems to work manually.

Or can it be disabled altogether?

Hi,

I haven't tried on TC yet but on suse I need to install cabextract first then I can run 'winetricks gecko' on the command line to get the gecko package. (I hope that winetricks is part of the TC wine package). Running it on commandline also has the advantage of getting better error messages without having to search for the right log files..

Ciao,
