Apps must not be auto inserted into the OnBoot list

(1/2) > >>

jur:
Sometimes I download and run an extension just that time, not needing it again in a while or perhaps never, just trying it out. Each time I must revisit the OnBoot list and delete entries that were auto added. My OnBoot list is a skeleton and I don't want it to be auto modified.

roberts:
Simple. If rarely used then don't use the Install option, should be obvious to use OnDemand.
If nothing went to onboot then you make it cumbersome for everyone else.

jur:
That is against what I understand to be the current TC philosophy that everyone likes so much, which is the OnDemand mode.

roberts:
Sorry not to please you.

jur:
This is rather silly.

You say this will make it cumbersome for everyone else... yet everyone is in the same position, when downloading an occasional app, the cumbersome process of first downloading it via ondemand, then installing from local has to be followed. And everyone is in the same boat of having to audit the OnBoot list when following the easier way of tce-load -i -w.

The problem is, TC is modifying fundamental setups without asking first. Apps aren't auto inserted in OnDemand, so why be inconsistent?
