is planned support for coreboot?
« on: March 27, 2010, 04:38:32 AM »
hi
I was wondering whether this interesting coreboot (linuxbios) thing is suitable for tinycore.
Is exploiting it planned?

Not really relevant. Bios chips are usually about 1M, so embedding TC as a payload would not work. If used as a bios/bootloader replacement, it doesn't really matter to it what it loads, nor to us what loads us.
The only barriers that can stop you are the ones you create yourself.

if I'm not wrong you are saying that nothing stops from using coreboot and tinycore in the same system.
now, I now that "immediate" boot is not priority for many users, but for someone is, so why not to create a wiki for it, because it seems to be too difficult for non-expert tinycore users.

Yeah, there's nothing stopping anyone from using coreboot with TC. However it doesn't relate to us at all, no configuration needs to be done in TC to be booted from coreboot.

I understand.
What I am trying to say is that coreboot+tinycore is tinycore squared for some people. I think many entered tinycore world for its fast booting so many more would enter if they find information about corebooting here.
