New Look to Website
« on: February 01, 2009, 10:27:35 AM »
I have implemented a new look to our website.
Trying to move to a more consistent look across the site.

I like the new design.  Very clean looking and fast loading.  Easy to navigate, just a few clicks gives a good overview of the project then on to all the tech stuff.

The only thing I would add is a search of the whole site, maybe at the bottom, left under the links.
Old wounds that have never healed need to be re-exposed before the cure can be applied.  The cure must be available before the wound is re-exposed.

Very nice. I especially like the screenshots. They let you see the look and feel right away and show you what the tools look like. I don't see that very often. You get to see what's really important about Tiny Core before you even run it.

The GIF files look a little fuzzy. I'd suggest using PNG for lossless 24-bit color screenshots compressed with pngout or something similar: http://www.advsys.net/ken/utils.htm. Even starting with the GIF instead of the original screenshot, I was able to recompress 3.GIF from 83635 byte GIF to a 49787 byte PNG with pngout. That'll save you some bandwidth.

Thanks for the tip, but currently the shots are on an external link.
If they can be brought in house, your suggestion could then be deployed.

Web site 2.0 now in place. Use browser refresh if needed.

Thanks goes to mjcpk http://www.mjcpk.co.uk/ for the new design.

It's amazing what a new look can do for a website.  Very crisp, clean, and functional....compliments TinyCore well.
Regards.

Something is visually wrong with the layout of "Downloads" section (using Firefox)
This is otherwise very neat looking.

I am going to keep working on it.
I am going to try a slightly modified (re-arrangement) version.
