How to get OSS to turn sound on automatically when installed?
« on: January 27, 2009, 01:53:04 PM »
I'm auto starting opera with flash on bootup but there's no sound because OSS doesn't install with sound enabled. Since opera starts up full screen I can't simply click on the screen to get the menu and if I start opera using xsession then there's no top tool bar to minimize opera so it has to be shut down to get at the menu which of course defeats the whole purpose of the auto start. Could the extension be changed to install with sound.

I don't know about turning sound on automatically when OSS is installed, but you could turn it on right before starting Opera by using

Code: [Select]
sudo soundon
in your script (drop the sudo if your script is running as root).

This is what the menu option "Sound ON" does, according to /usr/local/tce.menu/OSS
