flit won't get swallowed in jwm
« on: November 26, 2009, 03:24:14 AM »
In jwm, flit appears as a windowed app with an entry in the task bar. Adding a swallow entry in .jwmrc does not have any effect. It also does not appear in the other workspaces/desktops.

Hi.  I'm the originator of Flit.  I did not intend Flit to be used in JWM, especially considering most JWM desktops have indicators (I forgot what their "official" name is) that provide some overlap in functionality with Flit.  If Flit does work in JWM, that is a lucky coincidence!

I'm not having much time available to devote to *any* of my FLWM-based projects right now, and no one else has sent me code patches or suggestions of how to better support JWM, so there is no progress to report and no progress expected unless conditions change.

I have used JWM in Puppy Linux happily, but I prefer FLWM in TC Linux, so anything JWM-related is going to be a low priority for me personnally.  Unless someone steps up with a code patch that I can integrate in an acceptable manner, the JWM "swallowing" probably won't happen.  Sorry if this is disappointing.

Maybe another applet/utility would work better with JWM?
