locale-archive and firefox segfault

jls:
with /usr/lib/locale/locale-archive firefox doesn't start, neither skype.
I boot with lang=it_IT@euro and I have glibc_gconv.tcz installed (not mounted).
I tested in 2.3.1 and the problem doesn't exist.
