plz add keyboard support to fltk windows
« on: September 08, 2009, 02:41:49 PM »
most of the fltk windows don't have keyboard support, for example Alt+f for file, etc.

Not too high on my TODO list, for the following reasons:

1. Adds extra bulk to existing tiny programs. Most are GUI over CLI versions, so for keyboard use CLI.
I normally do not write monolithic X based programs. I prefer the separation of logic via script, thus easily supporting command line use, while also allowing for very small X GUI overlays.

2. Can easily cause confusion when window has focus was not the intended one.

3. Constant clashes with legacy non X programs run in Xterms or other TSR programs.

1. Adds extra bulk...
? sorry my english is not so good, so I went to http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/bulk and is written this:
(brane cosmology) A hypothetical higher-dimensional space within which our own four-dimensional universe may exist.
Nice!

U must know where your focus is, in flwm this is not very clear, cause the window with the focus has white title and the others gray.
White and gray are not so different

This I don't understand again.
Anyway I don't care cause I'm translating the fltk projects into italian adding key bindings, which I did already in my previous translations.

Last but but not least, my right wrist is painful, but also this is not a problem, sometimes I switch hand.
Ciao
