Puppy
« on: May 16, 2023, 04:39:28 AM »
Hello Forum,

Can you advise on this free "LICK" tool below.

I see in all the videos that people using the tool are using drive "D"  to place Puppy into and not the "C" drive where Msoft sits......
"D" shows as a separate drive in their Msoft machine
(or a separate partition they made earlier?)? ext2 or Fat32? )

Apart from the above issue, the  LICK tool seems very straightforward.

........i can't believe that the LICK developer would have omitted
the need to tell his prospective users that they  must FIRST  (1)

(1)  create a "spare partition" or "spare Drive" for Puppy to go into......
of type ext2 or fat32?.........Label it etc....

 Then use the LICK tool

any idea?

thanks
C

Oh sorry

.......it actually shows a TERMINAL COMMAND PROMPT scenario at the bottom of the LICK info page.

They have positioned an ISO file  on drive C:/ and indeed  then also instructed the "LICK tool" to  go and INSTALL the Puppy "iso" to the C:/ drive.

we all know that Win32 also sits on the  C:/  drive.

......so this LICK tool must somehow resize the C:/ partition.....?.... and then sticks Puppy OS onto the machine.
It then also presents the machine with a new bootloader that gives you boot options of......... Win32 or Puppy Linux.

It it works, then it's a very easy way to deal with DUAL BOOTING Computers

I want to dual boot "EASYOS puppy"  for it's "containers"
features.......... together with "win10 64 bit".

Thx
C

.......i don't suppose anybody would care to VM this for me?.....to see that the actions don't break a win 10 booting VM......?

i believe there are some very small Puppy iso files of the OS that could be used for  a test.

best regards
C
