cloud linux server "xwindows" session?
« on: September 20, 2022, 03:07:34 PM »
Hello Forum

Just wondered if anybody can tell me how to start the GUI xserver on this "cloud based linux machine"

https://www.offidocs.com/index.php/desktop-online-utilities-apps/xlinux-online-linux

To run the server you press ENTER.........

You can see which APPS the server hosts at the bottom of the page there..........listed

-------------------------------------------------------------------

"startx" just gets stuck

i believe it may be done via........... "screen" or "directFB" or "xorg-server" or "wayland" or "weston"?

thanks.

ps........ mplayer runs in the frame buffer right?..........what's the command for that?

thanks
C

the server actually hosts many many more apps than that

by quikly presssing the LEFT TAB KEY repeatedly......... you can see just how many........but how do we correctly scroll that list

such things as "wget" are on there and many many more

thx

v

i think that the distro is "openSUSE"  (XLinux) so a command to list all the installed apps would be great?
