Rust Language
« on: October 30, 2016, 01:32:33 AM »
The Rust language kept coming up this week.
https://www.rust-lang.org/en-US/
https://servo.org/
https://www.redox-os.org/
http://autumnai.com/

Webrender is interesting, accelerated CSS etc without the need of a browser.
HTML5 User Interfaces, gadget GUI's...

When I found a Rust version of coreutils and rust-boot I realized this is a serious Language.

Found a page with what people have done and are doing with it
https://github.com/kud1ing/awesome-rust

Does not take long to install in Raspbian and seems cleaner than gcc, less baggage?
Native multicore aware so it could do interesting things on Pi2/3's.

Of interest for me is the AI deep learning, Leaf stuff.
I have always considered that piCore would make a decent base for robotics without bloat.
Sure it has been done in Raspbian, but I don't  regard Raspbian as stable enough, not like piCore :P
