If I understood correctly, wiki's problem caused PHP's versions inconsistency.

Is it possible to get TCL's dokuwiki patched sources to take a look into and reproduce dreamhost's failing on local apache setup (and possibly fix)?

Excuse me for repeating already asked question http://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php/topic,24531.msg159634.html#msg159634, but it was unanswered (probably because of wrong topic).

Thank you for the offer, but since we can't upload new files to the wiki host, any investigation into the PHP changes wouldn't be usable.

Is control over "tinycorelinux.net" domain exist? Maybe another hosting/account is a solution?
Also, maybe "official mirror" could be primary wiki?

Yes, we control the domains, but any new hosting requires time & money, and then there's the issue of no recent backups.

To be ensured that I understood current status correctly:
1. Hosting (account on Dreamhost) is out of control
2. No recent backups.

So (IMHO), wiki.tinycorelinux.net progject need a hosting controlled by as much as possible TC devs/admins/maintainers.

Which hosting for TC wiki could be convenient/preferred? Is any suggestions?

For second, process of porting current mirrors to raw DokuWiki data should be started.

I want to spend some money/time  to resurrect wiki.

Thanks

That status is correct.

Hosting provider doesn't really matter. Our wiki was customized to use the forum logins, so users don't need two accounts - I guess that will be impossible unless the forum and wiki are on the same host.

Here's the last backup we have (quickly sanitized to make sure there's no passwords etc): http://tinycorelinux.net/wiki_backup_20190610.txz
(right click, save as; or use wget, I guess there's no mime type for txz)

Got it, thanks!

So we out of full control of forum too...

Is it possible to transfer login info between accounts on the same hosting?

P.S. Or even move forum (hope that access to SMF's DB available or some kind of export) to the new account to preserve logins scheme?

P.P.S. So we need hosting for at least 2 sites...

The forum situation is the same as the wiki. Last backups from 2019. No access. Afterall the forum and wiki are hosted in the same place.

Distributed p2p hosting solves the problem of unreliable hoster. I guess many TC users are able to keep the nodes running big part of the day. For example IPFS allows host to be accessible even behind the NAT.

I am all for finding a solution but have a look at that thread (http://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php/topic,24873.msg158851.html#msg158851) for the situation with DB backups.

According to http://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php/topic,24873.15.html TCL forum size is ~800Mb in html.
So 10Gb space should be enough both for forum and wiki.
Question: which location is more convenient for all, US or EC?

There are several threads pertaining to the current status of the forum and the wiki.
Some of them are(links for your convenience...because your time is precious, valuable, and irreplaceable):
http://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php/topic,24531
http://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php/topic,24873
http://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php/topic,25066

In those you will find various levels of concern and some ideas and offers as well.

and just for nostalgic reference, here are a few of the early posts:

http://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php/topic,10

as well as some of the earliest members:

it would probably be best if several of the senior forum members worked together towards seeking a viable remedy either from whomever currently "controls" the forum/wiki/etc or in the alternative, to inquire with Simple Machines(https://www.simplemachines.org/) as to the best method to rescue these captives. Looks like Juanito and curaga together have over 23K posts between them. What a wonderful wealth of knowledge and assistance they have been over the longhaul.

what can we do to support and further this effort?
