dCore and UEFI-Only issue fixed
« on: July 25, 2020, 01:33:07 AM »
Without repeating the whole thing here, I found the issue I was having with TC and dCore on UEFI-ONLY boxes:

The gist of it is that the TC iso's are very strict when it comes to bios "optical boot" selections, whereas most other distros don't seem to care.

Actually, to be more precise, the dCoreFocal64 RC candidate, was tested like I did with Tinycore on my Intel NUC in uefi-only mode.

The RC did NOT care about whether or not the uefi-exception of "optical boot" was enabled or not. and booted regardless.  So thanks for that - that also means my ultra-modern mini-pc which has no ability to select/deselect 'optical boot", and will not boot optical by default, has no problem with Focal RC booting either from a usb stick either!

Earlier releases like Buster were just not bootable in uefi-only mode, but that wasn't my main concern since there are other front-end ways to force it to do so. :)
