PCManFM - Trash Can bug
« on: April 09, 2020, 10:42:35 PM »
I presume TCB == Tiny Core Bugs and think this is the place to post, when I delete files PCManFM ddoesn't actually delete the files but just moves them to .local/share/Trash/files of one's Home directory, even if you try to delete them from there they remain... eventually one will fill their drives with trash that can never be deleted.  This seems like a bug, when I delete stuff I expect it to be gone freeing up space on my drive not moved somewhere else still taking up space.

Apparently its a PCManFM bug, I just went into terminal and deleted the files I wanted to delete one by one with the rm command, but to be frank that's a painful way to do it.  I wasn't really sure where to post this bug

You could try submitting a bug report on the pcmanfm site?

That's an easy fix: open up an xfe window -> Edit -> Preferences -> General -> uncheck "Use trash can for file deletion (safe delete)" -> click Accept

I am not sure if OP refers to 64 bit pcmanfm. I am looking at updating this TCE soon on 11x 64 bit
Also care might be needed if you run pcmanfm as root, as you might need to add root to your backup file?

@archerbob
Can you advise if you are referring to 32 or 64 bit please.
I am guessing 32 bit as its not in the pure64 sub-forum
