What happened to LXDE in 9.x?
« on: July 24, 2018, 04:12:03 PM »
I was looking to install 9.0, but it seems like LXDE is gone. Has it been removed from the repos?
The last time I booted into a TinyCore install was around 7.1 or so...
The last time I actually used it to do something was in 2014, on a Raspberry Pi...

So, it's been a while, sorry if this topic has been covered before...

until you get a better reply...

AFAIK it appears to have been compiled for 32 bit 4x series assuming you are 32 bit user

Generally speaking, it can be imported into the repo for the next final release,  if it still works. I would suggest that one or more components needed to be re-compiled on 9X build dependencies and no-one has had the time to do that.

The source still exists but most of the main components like the session are quite old

Our downstream maintainer was bmarkus and he is now your RPi and arm board TC maintainer.
I believe he is too busy to provide packages for 32 or 64 bit desktop distros.

2) What is the main features you were looking for?

if you like GUI stuff maybe try gnome?
