TWM window manager please?
« on: April 07, 2018, 01:45:55 PM »
I'd like to request the TWM window manager.  But please don't laugh.

For my needs, I find it all I need.  And talk about keeping to the 'core philosophy: it doesn't even use a widget set!

Sure it's considered obsolete, but the bits still work and is the standard wm of X, even though most consider it archaic.

Once one figures out that to do a lower-right window drag you click the UPPER right, hold and then drag the mouse over the bottom right part of the window, you'll be amazed.  Just like getting over the modal editing in vi!

Seriously, TWM always did enough for me, and would love to see it as an extension, or even perhaps as a built-in fallback so one could just do "dekstop=twm" in case of  emergency, or for geezers like me. :)

Thank you - works great with both bare-bones microcore/X/twm as well as the tinycore setups.

And thanks for putting in a terminal in the menu section.  That was a stumbling block for some way back when they would fire up, and not be able to do much before editing their own .twmrc. :)

Awesome.
