Maybe the ESR version needs updating, I'd use the firefox_getLatest.tcz extension to update and install the latest firefox.

You may use firefox_getLatest to update any version of firefox or just use the defaults to get the very latest

Depending on the website you may need  " libavcodec.tcz "  extension installed also

hi all

tried to set up pulseaudio
couldn't get it to work in tc 9 ff59 latest
i had it working in tc8.2 ffesr
but it was a hassle

so for the time being
i downloaded ff51.0.1 as suggested in ff pulseaudio thread
works fine with alsa and video sites

just a question
what will be the long term solution to the ff pulseaudio problem

anyway im up and running

thanks for everything
tinycore is the greatest

hi ulfr

glad you got sound up.

The easy method to get sound reliably with all versions of firefox
Install sound driver alsa.tcz and configure per info file (sound test must be successful before continuing)
install libavcodec.tcz extension
install pavucontrol.tcz extension then configure pulse-audio per info file
install latest firefox
install flash (either getFlash or getFlash_beta as required)

run firefox and make hardware and stream selections as needed with pavucontrol which also serves as a volume control

How challenging you find configuring Alsa and PulseAudio will depend on your specific hardware...

BTW latest firefox is 59.0.2

 thanks again coreplayer2

 will give it another try
 i forgot some steps
it worked before on this hardware
 so it should work again

 i like this setup too
so i will keep a version of this

one of the many advantages of tinycore's design
is that all you need to do is make another tce and home
and you can keep as many concurrent setups you want

 fantastic design
 great work
 much appreciated
