Thanks for posting.

I have applied the patch to 4.14.42 and it does seem to have fixed the problem on 10.0beta5a.

I need to use the usb-serial package for the version 10 beta release. I have created small packages before so if someone could point me to where to download the source files file from it would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think that there is an official set of kernel modules available for piCore10 Beta5  ie kernel 4.14.42 The full kernel source is available here
http://tinycorelinux.net/10.x/armv7/releases/RPi/src/kernel/
so you can build your own.
My built modules for 4.14.42 arm7 are here.
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1MYbc2hAc_4og0eW9qjtcMJ144mn04lzH
if they help. I have patched the kernel to avoid the HDMI crash but it did not effect any modules.
Look at usb-serial from 9.0.3 to which modules should be included in your new tcz.

Any news when the piCore10 release will be out? I also didn't see any posts about it in the "piCore Test Releases" sub-forum – the newest one is for piCore-9.0beta3.

Hi there all,

I know @bmarkus is getting all this working so perhaps a question to you :)

Any idea on timeline for version 10?

I've installed beta 5 but at this stage I see nothing is in the repo yet for installing on top as such?

I'm keen to try help test beta 5 but would need access to the tcz's for many elements.

Do you suggest I wait or copy from other version repos? Example alsa modules, rsync, vtun, USB modeswitch and many more?

Keen to hear your thoughts and perhaps build a new version of our system based on TC10 unless you suggest it's better to use 8.1.5 as we are and only try update the kernel + solve module issues rather than build from the ground up on version 10.

As always big thanks and chat when you can.

Bye for now :)

Any extension from piCore 9.x and earlier using kernel modules will not work in piCore 10.x

Other extensions may or may not work depending on base library updates, etc.

Good news, new armv7 beta built with 4.14.66 kernel. Now it boots fine on RPi3+ with FIQ enabled.

That's hopefully great news! Not 100% sure though, is that TC10.x or 9.x you're referring to? In this repo I still only see the beta5 that I have tried to use without luck in that it boots, but no tcz's available.

This is the repo I was looking in :

https://distro.ibiblio.org/tinycorelinux/10.x/armv7/test_relases/RPi/

Confirm when you can - Thank you!

Perfect! No issue :) was just not sure if I was looking at the right repo.

If stable enough to get out the door as such, is the next step to rebuild tcz's for everything and / or?

I see there was a post about all tcz's not going to work that are linked to kernel modules in anyway.

As you're aware, our system uses quite a few tcz's along with a few of our own tcz's for things such as java and our software.

Really hope to get TC10 up and running as we had to purchase 3B+ Pi's as no stock of just the 3B boards here in SA.

Chat when we do and as always HUGE thanks for you constant work on TC - It's much appreciated.

Bye for now,
