Hi
found it!
I removed a personally created file in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/
and now it works!

dCore-zesty has been updated in the release candidate area due to an update in libc6.

Ubuntu Zesty will reach it's end of life on January 13.  Users of dCore-zesty are advised to migrate to another dCore port.  The dCore-zesty image files will be removed from release candidates at that time, but current users with dCore-zesty installations will still be supported with debinx package data.

The Ubuntu package archive of the Zesty release has been removed from the Ubuntu servers and current dCore-zesty installs are unable to update existing packages or install new ones.

Thanks!  I did try to get our server to rsync the debinx data, but I was not able to.  If it worked, then that mirror location you mentioned could be put in /opt/debmirror and dCore-zesty or whichever old version could have the Ubuntu repo available from their old release archive.  I will look further to see if their old releases is an rsync mirror.

The old releases archive of Ubuntu does not have an rsync server, but I am using a wget command on our server that only fetches files if the ones on their server are newer than ours.  And since Zesty is frozen in old releases, it should never  use bandwidth on our server beyond the first fetching of the Packages files when we run our routine to get the debinx data.  Otherwise, wgetting the entire Packages.xz each time we fetch debinx data would not be acceptable, especially for a deprecated release.

On the user's end, there are two files that need to exist with the listed contents to make use of the Ubuntu old releases archive:

/opt/debmirror:
Code: [Select]
http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu

/opt/securitymirror:
Code: [Select]
http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu

The two above files should be created and backed up.  Then dCore-zesty users can install packages from the Ubuntu Zesty archive.  The prebuilt section is available with no adjustments needed.

Thanks for the idea.  I will do this for dCore-zesty, and perhaps others in the future.

dCore-zesty has been reinstated in the release candidates area, and the entries /opt/debmirror and /opt/securitymirror are included in the base with the before mentioned old releases repos so sce-import works by default.
