With the file managers emelfm2.tcz, or spacefm.tcz, or Xfe.tcz I was able to view the hidden file (.filetool.lst) and open the files (bootlocal.sh and .filetool.lst) to edit and save.

The keyboard configuration in the ABNT2 standard worked successfully on Tiny Core Plus 11.0 32 bits.

I agree with @marcelocripe about pcmanfm: it's common, nice but lacky in options. I'm going to test another too.

I like Fluff very much. It is simple, but has all what I need. On the left side I have the full tree and on the top some buttons to find back home. I can use it with sudo and see hidden files. Editor is working fine.

Simple and good :)

Apparently Xfe isn't there anymore.
Does someone know a way to install a file manager?
EDIT: I know about Midnight Commander, but I would like something more..... graphical.

how about my favorite rox-filer or rox (same)?

Hello F,

At last check, the tinycore OS  (operating system)  does not offer users any Desktop file manager.

Though that may change.

There are so so many file managers offered inside the Tinycore ( Apps ) library.   The Apps library appears on the desktop

0) Click the desktop APP library "icon
1) List the CLOUD list for apps
2) Scroll down in (1) above and choose maybe "fluff"  File manager ........... which may be there.
3) Click fluff
4) "Fluff" file manager icon.......... should appear on the desktop

in the future you could repeat those steps above...................since Tinycore Desktop does NOT remember your apps on power-off of the computer..........

For sure, you can do a Backup (select it) on power down of the computer...............after that , on power UP of the computer,........ its not  clear what the future state of your computer will be.

There are  a couple of existing FOLDERS inside Tinycore OS  which need interactions  SO AS TO GET YOUR COMPUTER to REMEMBER it;s APPS on reboot  (re-start)  after powered off ............

...........Unfortunately, it's not explained  on the Desktop you ***see**** how to do those simple steps to make your computer remember it's APPS when powered OFF and back ON.....

Thx
V.

ps.........hope the above helps
