Microsoft recruitment
« on: January 30, 2016, 02:39:31 AM »
I just got my first Microsoft recruitment attempt ;)

Bit funny for someone who hasn't had Windows at home since 2006.

Have others here received some?

Maybe they want help porting Office to TC bad enough that they are willing to pay for it.  ;D

I get those too. Used to be some fellow with a heavy accent would call warning me about a virus on my PC. I told
him "Yes, I know. I wrote the virus. Thank you for confirming that it works.". This was followed by about 30 seconds
of silence since he didn't know how to respond to that, then he hung up. Now I get the occasional robocall stating
that a virus has been detected on my computer and to press 1 to talk to a certified Microsoft technician.

I ended up unplugging my landline because I kept getting calls from "Internet Security" (based on callers' accents and background noise a boiler room in India) saying that my Windows PC was infecting the web. This at times when my wife's PC was not even connected (I mostly use TC myself). Usually just said "Oh b__s___" and hung up, although some of the callers spoke English so well that I felt like suggesting they could easily find more honest employment.

I've never had those :( With some phone salesman though my standard reply is "May I tell you about Jesus?".
