DSL wi fi
« on: December 12, 2015, 10:29:43 AM »
Hello,

is there any tool that can throttle down your DSL (wi fi) connection to whatever bandwidth you want?

say you have 6 megabit per second....but want to throttle it down to say 120 Kylobit per second......about 60 times less bandwidth
right...

what is that tool?

thanks

it's called tc, no joke, it means traffic control. http://lartc.org/manpages/tc.txt

Hi Rich,

oh right i see. So "Tc" is part of another extension in tinycore.

right.

See, i was hoping to use tinyore with wi fi here....the USB wi fi dongle here is a "BT voyager 1055" so do you think your stock drivers would work with it?

yes, tc is just a tool to set up some rules that effect the kernel.

google turned up a lot of hits for ndiswrapper and also mentioned that it uses a broadcom chipset - what does lspci and/or lsusb show?
