Hello,

is there any tool that can throttle down your DSL (wi fi) connection to whatever bandwidth you want?

say you have 6 megabit per second....but want to throttle it down to say 120 Kylobit per second......about 60 times less bandwidth
right...

what is that tool?

thanks

hiro:
it's called tc, no joke, it means traffic control. http://lartc.org/manpages/tc.txt

hiro:
beware of the mostly nonexistent documentation. the reference i gave is just so you know what to search for.

cast-fish:
ok thanks

so it's in the kernel of Linux.....or something?.....a tool that already exists
in any distro?  (almost)

Rich:
