How do i port PiCore for Orange pi plus 2E
« on: October 15, 2016, 02:42:06 PM »
I saw a thread announcing the port of PiCore for allwinner h3 however when i tried it ,it didn't work and when i asked why, the creator said that the gigabit ethernet chip on the 2E is not supported, and that he needs a kernel modification for it.

The question is why can't i use an existing kernel for +2e, and if i can then how do i do it.

Link for kernel file:http://www.orangepi.org/orangepibbsen/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=342

Link for PiCore port:http://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php/topic,20394.0.html

Thanks in advance.

A post titled "How to port piCore to other ARM boards" could be helpful.  Please visit http://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php/topic,17895.0.html.

Isn't the question what modifications are needed?

Look for some other distribution which works for you, identify the kernel, the modules needed for the ethernet, video, audio etc.
Than look for the source files for this kernel and build it accordingly to work  with the piCore as stated here:
