Mono (Framework & IDE)
« on: December 01, 2014, 11:46:58 AM »
Hi,
I want to install TCL to my r-pi but there is some situations.
I want to use my r-pi for simple hosting but i'm coding in .net
I must deploy my site apache or nginx & i need mono framework
I found monodevelop in tcl 3.x's tcz repo & i think when i install monodevelop it will comes with boundaries. so finally i have the framework (older version of monodevelop & mono framework)
but in r-pi tcz repo there is no monodevelop
so how can i install mono framework or monodevelop (with all boundaries)
thanks from now for your answers & sorry for my terrible english : )))

Hi Ari,

adding mono will happen when core components stabilized. However it will take I guess few days to compile as compressed source is 71Mbyte and for sure must be repeated few times due to errors occure during build.

No defined dates. Base system itself looks OK with 3.17.x kernel, what I have to check a bit the wireelss part. Core extensions in repo already updated or will be updated, so I expect around Xmas time a Release Candidate will be available.

Anyhow my kind advice to use now piCore 6.0 beta line as updates, bug fixes, new repo additions happen with 6.0 while no activity with 5.x, and current version is stable enough to use.

Regarding MONO it is just building. Only 7 hours gone, no idea how long it will run. The good point is that it build with nop errors still. I will let you know when it is finished and ready for testing.

Mono 3.10.0 added to repo. Tested "Hello world" example, it compiles and runs. Other features not tested. Please try it and let us know your findings.
