Probleme loading extension
« on: July 23, 2014, 01:36:15 AM »
Hi,

I have a problem when the system try to load the extensions. The system show that it load the extensions (because status bar rotate continuously) but it never pass this step.
This is not all the time just from time to time. Sometime I must re-power the raspberry 4-5 times until the extensions can be loaded.
Anyone knows why?

Thank,
Best regards,
imaad

SD card corruption? Use the showapps bootcode to see how far it gets.
The only barriers that can stop you are the ones you create yourself.

SD card can be unrealible, not only corrupted or demaged. Did you try another SD card?

I use many raspberry in the same time with the same type of SD card. Not all the raspberry have this problem even if I re-power multiple times. But when this problem appear in one of the raspberry this will be permanently almost on each re-power. Sometime to avoid this problem, because it becomes annoying, I must rewrite the image on SD card.

If the SD card is unreadable why the kerner boot all the time and just the extension have this problem ? Or the SD card has same partition broken and the kernel and extension don't start correctly ?

HI: Have piCore 5.3.1 X version installed on 2GB sd card. System boots fine. Tried to install gparted and system returned an "install failed" message. Then I expanded the sdb2 partition using gparted on another PC. Tried to install gparted and pcmanfm again - but no luck.

Here is the error message I got:
tc@box:~$ tce-load -wi pcmanfm.tcz
Downloading: pcmanfm.tcz
wget: bad address 'repo.tinycorelinux.net'
md5sum:pcmanfm.tcz.md5.txt:No such file or directory
tc@box:~$

Ownership of /tce is tc and staff ?
Ownership of sdb2 = mcblk02p is root root
t(w)o be(ers) or not t(w)o be(ers) that is the question

Hi beerstein

That sounds like you might have a problem with your  /etc/resolv.conf  file.

thanx - yes, but I think the primary problem is a corruted sd (mico sd in adapter) card. I reinstalled piCore on another micro sd card and it worked fine. I was also able to install several extensions. Then after a while, when I tried to install an additional extension,  the cursor freezes and no CTRL-ALT-F1 works either.
After shut down and boot I was able to install openssl,
Power supply and sd card is the #1 problem on Raspberry Pi. I am using a micro sd card with adapter now because I bougt the new B+ which uses micro sd instead of sd cards. So I can try and use it on the new Raspberry Pi also.
