How to remove a package ?

(1/1)

forever:
I want to remove python in tinycore , but how to remove a package ?

chattrhand:
Hi forever,

- Click on Apps icon
- in the Apps window click on Apps tab to open a menu
- in the Apps menu select Maintenance >   Dependencies and Deletions
this opens the list of all of the installed extensions
- find the extension you want to delete and mark it by click
- click on the Dependencies tab to open the menu
- Within the Dependencies menu click on  Mark for deletion
- Restart TinyCore via the normal TC Exit window

While TinyCore is running down it removes the packet and its entries.
After restart this packet is gone.

Note:
not all of the extensions are deletable, if they are used by other extensions
be a little more curious and try to find out by yourself ;-)

forever:
Thanks, but my tinycore has no desktop.

Juanito:
You can achieve the same thing using the "ab" command or manually editing /tce/onboot.lst

gerald_clark:
Then use:
tce-audit builddb
tce-audit delete packagename

"tce-audit marked"  will show what is marked for deletion.

Run "tce-audit" to get a list of options.
