Sound
Mike7:
Hi, all.
After an absence of a few months for health reasons, I'm back. My health isn't changed, but since I'm using Core as my main OS now I need to continue setting it up.
The first thing I need to add is sound, to see if that will allow me to play Youtube videos in Chromium browser, and so I can listen to my jazz mp3's without switching to another operating system <grin>.
The TCL wiki on sound says to download the alsa.tcz and alsamixergui.tcz apps (onboot), and a media player like vlc. Is this still the correct procedure? Are there any other apps I should download for sound?
I'll try to follow the wiki once I have the downloads straight, although the wiki is difficult for a relative newbie like me, and there is almost nothing on sound in the Corebook.
Cheers!

Hi, Gerald-
I have no time for blogging. I asked serious questions and hope someone will answer them.

The only question I see is "Should I follow the instructions?"
Yes. Follow the instructions.
If you have any specific questions after following them, feel free to post them here.
Mike7:
Okay, Gerald, I'll do as you say. But I really wish you would get off my case.
Cheers.
