hi jason_w,

my re-import of my mega-package "mydesktop" breaks with the error message that libgcc_s.so.1 is missing.
i found some hints that the packages lib32gcc1 or ia32-libs could solve it.
lib32gcc1 is not in the repository and ia32-libs is really big :(
ia32-libs-* didn't change the situation.

additionally i get error messages at the end of the preparation of the importsce:
sh: bad number
Error in calculating archive size for perlapi-5.14.2, omitting..
sh: bad number
Error in calculating unpacked size for perlapi-5.14.2, omitting..

0.00 MB of downloads required.
887.99 MB needed for unpacking archives.
284.45 MB of compressed archives will be used.

887.99 MB is a good estimate of /mnt/sdb2/tce space needed, 2338.45 MB is available.

Proceed to create mydesktop.sce? (y/N):

what do you recommend?
thank you for your help.

Hi,

The error message is one that I put in there when there is an error in calculating the size, most often the case is that the field and number being parsed from the Packages file does not exist.

What is the contents of your mydesktop file?

libgcc_s.so.1 is part of the base dCore, it should not be missing.

I imported that file list and all worked as expected.  I did uncover a couple of unrelated possible bugs involving the use of extra mirrors, and will post a fix for it.

It appears that the error message occurs with meta packages, in which their size is already included in the calculation, I think I will remove the error message as it is not an error at all.

hi jason w,

i deleted all my deb-packages in my local repository ../import/debs and
with the new downloaded packages all went smooth an fine...
perhaps some scripts get not updated without a new download?

thank you for your commitment and help.

I did see some strange errors when I ran out of HD space when I first imported the file list as I ignored the warning.

The debs being already downloaded shouldn't be an issue, the startup scripts are fetched each import session, old ones are never used if that is the scripts you are referring to.

I made some minor bugfixes and have reposted dCore.gz.
