Core v5.1rc1
« on: November 17, 2013, 11:45:30 PM »
The first release candidate of Tiny Core v5.1 is now posted and ready for testing:

http://www.tinycorelinux.net/5.x/x86/release_candidates

Change log:
* kernel: updated from 3.8.10 to 3.8.13, to correct long sync issues
(This is a minor update to fix a specific bug. No config changes)
* tce-fetch: updated to support $KERNEL parameter (thanks to maro)
* version: added multi-architecture support
* tc-functions: getbootparam updated to properly match a parameter that is a substring.

Update instructions, from the release distribution files area:

http://www.tinycorelinux.net/5.x/x86/release/distribution_files/

1. Copy over new vmlinuz/vmlinuz64
2. Copy over new core.gz or rootfs.gz + modules/modules64
3. Boot into new system

if You have/use X then
AppsAudit -> Dependencies -> Build Reporting Database -> Fetch Missing

or if you only use core or rootfs + modules (no X) or Xorg did not start and only have a system prompt use:

tce-audit builddb
tce-audit fetchmissing

Sorry, but I've never used this - perhaps one of the other users can help out?

I didn't know about tce-audit before. It's really fantastic. Thanks a lot, and keep up the excellent work!

I updated my systems to the new version core32 & 64

It took a couple of reboots for Apps to find missing deps,   but eventually Build Reporting Database, update dep's and fetch missing deps found and installed many missing deps

Great job   thanks guys
