how to increase the size of rootfs

I am using virtual box to run tiny core....

my tiny core virtual hard disk has size of 12gb..I used kuubuntu then i mounted my tiny core drive on Kubuntu system..then i used gparted to increase the size of the tiny core hard disk...although the size increased but when i checked after running tiny core it showed increase in sda1 but the rootfs is still 450 Mb...

How can i increase my rootfs system?

You could assign more RAM to your vm.

Thank you..it worked.. but do you thing is there any other way we can increase the size of rootfs ??

Well, according to documentation, tmpfs could be resized on the fly, but I wouldn't know if that applies for the special case of rootfs.

Another option might be remastering and editing /init.

Default size in Core is 90% of available RAM, so whatever you would do, you would have to guarantee first that there is enough swapspace available.
