is there any image that runs ssh out of the box? as funny as that sounds - i have no usb keyboards, and most linux images for pi can be ssh'ed into.

Not yet, but I can create one, as it is requested by others too.

are the raspberry boot files also updated? i've noticed that on my card (marked as compatible on r-pi wiki) piCore won't boot unless i replace raspberry boot files with more up to date ones (from the github raspberry pi "firmware" repository) .

that was with previous most recent image.

i am using the 512mb model with kingston sdhc SD4/4GB . so far all system images i put on it worked out of the box, except for piCore.

Hi bmarkus,

Thank you for the new piCore SD card image!

I've installed it today and everything is working fine again, and I didn't notice any multiplied input characters anymore. So that seems to be solved.
There was one thing I noticed: when I issued the "sudo reboot" command the Pi wouldn't boot completely anymore. It got stuck here:

But when I pull the power plug and plug it back in, it boots normally again.
This is no problem for me, I normally do not use the reboot command. But I thought I should mention it here.

Thanks again!

Greetings,
   Gerrelt.

My system boots, reboots as expected with no problem. Which version of RPi you have? What is connected to the RPi?

I'm using an early model B with 256 mb memory.

Connected to the Pi is:

- Keyboard Logitech Wireless Combo MK220
- D-Link DUB H4 powered USB hub
- LogiLink USB Soundcard
- LogiLink Wireless LAN USB 2.0 Nano Adapter
- Speedlink Snappy USB powered speakers
- A Samsung TV via HDMI

When I had the "problem", I also had a wired ethernet connection plugged in.

I would disconnect all devices except monitor, keyboard and mouse. Hopefully it works, If so, add listed devices one bye one to find which one is causing the issue. Than udev monitoring can help to see cause.

BTW does it happen with the new 3.8.13 release?

I just tried the reboot command without the HDMI cable, ethernet cable and the Keyboard attached. And now it works without any problems.
This is how the raspberry is normally connected, so my problem is solved.
But I will try to connect some things again and see if I can reproduce.

Yes, I was re-installing my Raspberry radio with the new release.

Hi bmarkus.

Sorry for my late reply, But your new image is working fine, no problem at all.

Do you know of a small web server with php support for the microcore on raspberry?
I was thinking of using mongoose, but I still need php, which is not included. But i Think that it should support php, if installed?

thanks for the feedback. I like this latest 3.8 kernel, this is the first which makes me happy, so I will keep it for a while.

Mongoose supports php by default. I will add PHP to the repo when I get some time.
