Solved - Claws Mail Send
« on: April 05, 2012, 09:25:05 AM »
Since there seems to be no Claws Mail forum, I've come to y'all.
My ISP is att.net.
I installed Claws Mail and am able to receive mail.
But when I send, I get:

ERROR
An error happened during SMTP session.
Use :Send queued message: from the main window to retry.

Thanks in advance.

The error message is pretty clear, you have a wrong password/username. Alternatively your mail server may require some other authentication type.
The only barriers that can stop you are the ones you create yourself.

FWIW, there is a #claws IRC support channel on freenode.net.

Curaga - Thanks for your reply.
Since I can receive mail,
my login and password
should be correct, right?
I think your 2nd suggestion is correct.
The probable issue is my smtp server requires
some other authentication thingy.
AT&T seems to be a bit more complicated
than any other ISP I used over the past
15+ years in 3 countries.

TinyPoodle - Thanks for your info.
Didn't find a forum, but I did
subscribed to the Claws Mail mailing list.
Hopefully someone there knows
how to setup Claws w/ an att.net account.

Thanks friends

Boy do I feel stupid.
My send login was incomplete.
Now all is well.

Thanks to all
