I did not try OSS. Why it looks promissing, I always end up with some problem with OSS so I use ALSA. Also during compilation one of the dependencies brings ALSA dev, don't remember which one.

Didn't try Xvesa. Running on stock TC in a terminal you can see an error message claimng a missing Xvideo extension and no local camera picture. Xorg is a soft dependency, so you can try current version with Xvesa. Let us share the result.

hi bmarkus,

i want to confirm you a full working live-usbstick-linphone-alsa-xorg-video configuration.
thank you very much for your nice extension and your work.

in the future i want to look for a tiny, lean oss-xvesa-solution as well.
if you can give me hints for reaching this goal, every hint and help is highly appreciated :)

keep on going, thanks for your commitment :)

Video requires Xorg, however it is possible to build a voice only version to eliminate this dependency.

OSS is a good question. While it looks promissing, I always end up with some failures and go back to ALSA to have a working system. Distributions usually install ALSA by deafault for similar reason. All together OSS is out of my interest :(

your actual package works seamless voice-only with xvesa, never mind :)

in the moment i use alsa as my standard sound system, too.
but nevertheless on some hardware alsa doesn't work out-of-the-box,
while oss just works on this alsa-problematic hardware :(

one of my goals is a "one size fits all"- or
"one config that just works on almost every hardware"-concept and it's almost possible :)

If there ever will be a tc release for Raspberry Pi I would get one and install linphone.  8)
