Encrypt Persistent Home
« on: December 15, 2011, 09:20:59 AM »
I would like to have a persistent home directory which is encrypted in case my netbook gets stolen, etc. Is there a way to do this besides bcrypt? Bcrypt seems a little more like a raw utility from what I've been reading and perhaps not an appropriate solution for persistent home directory encryption.

Can anyone suggest the best way to do this or at least point me in the right direction? Part of this question I suppose could include how to set TinyCore to require a password on boot...?

Thanks!

Hi breakstuff
You might try using the forums search function. Here is one thread that may be useful:

Well, I had searched both the wiki and forum using the search function but must have used different keywords than you did. Thanks for the link. Are there any plans for adding a sort of plug and play password prompt extension that you know of?

I'm not familiar with these extensions but they may be of some use:
cryptsetup.tcz
truecrypt.tcz
I found them by having AppBrowser search for  encrypt
