wifi on lenovo x200t
« on: April 19, 2009, 07:57:13 PM »
First, thank you for creating such a wonderful distro.

Unfortunately, I cannot enjoy it fully--my wired connection works, but my wifi doesn't. It seems that I need iwlagn module, which is not (yet) available. What are my options?

What chipset do you have?  Looks like iwlagn was integrated into kernel upstream after 2.6.26

You could try ndiswrapper for now, or wait for another TC version to come out.  The build-your-own options would probably be more work though.

My chip is 5100. Yes, iwlagn is available in >= 2.6.27. Is it difficult to use ndiswrapper? What are the steps involved? Building a new kernel is too complex for me.

I think there is some hit and miss with ndiswrapper.  You could take a look at the .info of the extension and/or use search for what other users have done.
