Title: What do 3000 geeks have in common?
Post by: Lee on June 07, 2011, 11:06:32 AM
Q: What do three thousand geeks (and geek wannabees) have in common?

A: They're all members of the TinyCore Linux forums!

I suppose there's no real way to know how many people are actually using TinyCore, but I note the total number of members, as listed in the members list, has surpassed 3000.

As opposed to the total number of members, as listed on the forum home page, which passed three thousand a long time ago, and the highest user ID number which passed 3k even longer ago.

Looks like "louisho" is the lucky three thousandth user.  Perhaps he/she should be awarded a free download of tinycore.iso?  :)

Was it the magic "3k" threshold or the starter packs that did it, or did I miss a major new release?  Looks we've got new forum members coming out the ears the last few days.

Curiously, we're at the same time going down on Distrowatch. Different audiences maybe.

Yeah, I had seen that, too.  Maybe one of the big name magazines did an article on TC?  Or maybe some educator has an entire campus thinking about it?
