Tiny core vm has open VM Tools installed. I cannot currently get sound working from within the vm?
-
I've had that question before (http://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php?topic=7899.msg50535#msg50535):
OSS works fine in VMware Player, and alsa worked after I ran alsaconf.
What are you using Player, Workstation, Server, or ESX/ESXi?
-
Latest version of player

It should work then, assuming VMware is configure for the proper sound device. I didn't have any trouble, anyway. You might have to adjust volumes, but that is all.
-
Stupid question but where do I adjust volume from within tiny core vm?
-
OSS uses ossmix, and alsa uses alsamixer.
-
I uninstalled all ALSA and OSS tcz file rebooted and then reinstalled just OSS. It works now.

I am at work, shhhhh, so I cant watch the YouTube clip but one of the first things to remember is that the clip probably has been altered by amps and EQs etc so the true sound may not be what you are hearing. Just something to keep in mind.
