Title: oo2.tcz bug?
Post by: alu on March 13, 2011, 03:33:28 PM
not sure that it is one, but after loading oo2.tcz (on TC 3.5..1), i get

The user interface language cannot be determined

and oo2 shutdown. i believed it was a permission issue related to the user profile and started oo2 again as root, same error message. I have deleted the .openoffice.org2 directory in ~, and replace it by my own directory with permission set right, but to no avail. can someone reproduce this?

I do not even install oo2, but I am aware of the presence of libreoffice in the repository, and I know that the maintainer has put several local languages.
maybe try and read the descriptions of those packages in appbrowser  ;)

oo2.tcz is compulsory for me since i only have 512mb ram. Libreoffice and oo3 don't load on my machine, they are too big. and i must answer people sending me doc document... sad enough

I install oo2 now and work correctly.
I do not know if it can be correlated, but i have both botcodes in syslinux.conf (lang e kmap) and package from the repository kmaps and getlocale.
In the meantime, if you can, use services such as GoogleDocs

thanks vinnie for the independant test. ok, i look into it again in order to check if the boot codes have to be there, or if something else causes this behavior. i'll report back soon,
