Hi, I'm still very new to TCL and linux.
I've installed Japanese fonts, and Japanese keyboard map.
Now, I need to type in Japanese, but I didn't find any information about this, and I'm stuck.
Any help on this?
Thanks.

If you are wondering why I can't type even if I have Japanese key map set up, it is because what I type on my keyboard are still alphabets and symbols. I need to convert romaji(alphabets) to Japanese characters. Usually, pressing the space bar does this.
Thanks.

Hi Mjordan23,
How did you install the JP fonts?
-
Hi Xianwen, just follow these steps.
1. Go to http://ossipedia.ipa.go.jp/ipafont/index.html
2. Click on Accept at the bottom of the page.
3. Download IPAexfont00102.zip(9.21 MB) or IPAfont00302.zip(19.1 MB). (The former contains two fonts, and the latter contains four).
4. Unzip the zip file, and put a *.ttf file into /usr/share/fonts.
I'm using Opera, and this worked for me.

Hello again Mjorhan23,
You may type Japanese online:
http://inputking.com/
.

Thanks.
I also know some other similar websites like that, but I really prefer to type Japanese directly from my keyboard.

Hi Mjordan23,
May you try to compile a TCZ for scim:

?

Thanks! I'll take a look at it.
