Title: Pertelian X2040 - ttyUSB0 serial device not showing up
Post by: nathan.f77 on April 19, 2010, 04:20:50 AM
Hi there,

I bought a Pertelian X2040 USB LCD display. It shows up on tinycore with 'lsusb' as "0403:6001 Future Technology Devices International, Ltd FT232 USB-Serial (UART) IC"

On ubuntu linux, a 'ttyUSB0' device is registered under /dev, and I can access this with lcd4linux. On tinycore, however, there is no 'ttyUSB0' device, and it doesn't seem to be registered under any other 'tty...' device. I tried installing the libftdi.tcz packages, but these didnt help me at all, although the testing programs did detect the device.

My question is: Am I simply missing something, and the device is registered somewhere else? Or if not, is there a package I can install so that my LCD display will be registered as ttyUSB0?

Thanks very much,
Nathan B
