Title: Managing grub
Post by: adszhu on December 23, 2009, 11:56:47 PM
Hi,
I had TC and XP on separate partitions. I setup grub to manage dual boot. Now I needed to remove the TC partition, and I did it in a careless way. Now grub fails to run, I cannot boot even my XP.
What should I do to disable grub? I assume I will need to use netboot to have an OS running, but then how to go on?

Ever thought of using IRC freenode #grub and ask there? - they got 53 visitors at the moment

If you disable grub, there's nothing left to boot your XP. You need to fix it, or replace it with another boot loader.

To replace it with XP's own, boot the XP cd, start a recovery console, and type "fdisk /fixmbr".
