Title: Newbie Issues
Post by: whooshman on October 20, 2009, 01:28:37 PM

I agree, this huge.  I love the paradigm:  Ultra minimal; ultra customizable system.  I have a basic system and have a couple issues:

--I have been downloading extensions using other systems.  To do this I viewed the repositories with FTP.  There are a few differences between the FTP listings and the "Appbrowser" HTML.  Like where is ISOMASTER  or  SCITE?

--How do one use the firewall?

--Have not found anything that will display Web activity like the lovely little KDE "connection grapher". or the famous Damn Small Linux  WMPPP utility.  Does any TC extension do similar?

Amazing work.  More oppower to you all.

Guy--nice site!  0ff-topic:  I like the link on snoring, which advises that it:

"can usually be prevented by keeping the mouth closed"

I think that's good advice to keep others from snoring as well.

Found all the extensions I wanted, including all firewall parts, thanks to your encouragement.  Just more FTP browsing.  Conky looks like it might count packets with a little fussing.  It is a bit overwhelming.  Thank you all for excellent answers!

I think using search function of Appbrowser you can find the faster.
