Title: TC 2.3 will not load TCEs on notebook/USB stick (Solved)
Post by: dwRK on September 23, 2009, 05:19:15 AM
Hi.

I use...tce=sdb1/TC/tce...TC 2.0 worked flawlessly, 2.3 worked only ONCE...then never again...I boot using a memory stick on my notebook. How to load/install all the extensions after TC boots? Sorry for stupid question...I am a newbie.

Many thanks.

If your boot media is sdb1, keep extensions in sdb1/tce instead of sdb1/TC/tce expecting that you are not overwriting default parameters on one or other way.

Thanks. Just tried this but didn't work. TC 2.0 kept sdb1 mounted after startup, and looks like TC 2.3 didn't even mount it to load the TCEs...

I have a frugal install on my home PC with the same directory setup and TC 2.3 loads the TCEs OK...so very strange this problem.

Are you sure your usb stick is still sdb1 and not sda1? This can be verified by something like "dmesg | tail -20" as soon as it has booted.

Also WAITUSB=5 boot parameter may help.

Guys, many thanks for the help.

Yup...still is sdb1...and already using waitusb=5. Needed waitusb=10 to load consistently! Been trying to solve this for a week now... ::)
