This versioon have 2 problem.
Pressing the button for search (top right) and for show html bugs (bottom righ) cause the program crash.
The program don't support ssl. this is the error shown while trying to open gmail:

because Dillo's prototype plugin for https support is disabled.
If you want to test this alpha support code, just reconfigure with --enable-ssl, recompile and reinstall. (Beware that this https support is very limited now) To use https and SSL, you must have the OpenSSL development libraries installed. Check your O/S distribution provider, or check out www.openssl.org.

Since the ssl support is "very limited", I don't think enabling it would be a good idea.

Version 2.2 is out. Hopefully someone can make updated extension.. I tried and failed.
Web site says..."# do not configure fltk2 with --enable-cairo
I hope newer version will fix the two problems noted above by vinnie.
Existing extension is not very usable because it crashes when you try and use
search button.
Previous working versions where a nice fit with older, hardware limited machines.

I don't agree. I include SSL in my list of misused or bloated web technologies, which I'm trying to work around by using dillo. Dillo does the only sane thing and their SSL "feature" should be included!
If you don't think so I can also make a dillo-ssl extension.

It's disabled by default for a reason, i.e. http://www.dillo.org/FAQ.html#q12
which should probably be included as a (big?) warning in the .info. "dillo-ssl" as another package sounds fine...

No problem, I get hammered with warnings by dillo.
Every cert has to be accpeted, even if it's the same all the time ("remote certificate cannot be verified - Accept/Cancel").
It's usable once you're logged in...
By the way - antiantialiasing is so sharp! I'm loving dillo :)

There is now a dillo.tcz extension with ssl enabled. The old dillo2 remains accessible.
Sometimes I get logged out of this forum, I don't know why...
I'm on GPRS and everything else works just fine. Google Mail i.e. is a blast.
Remember to dpidc stop before backing up your cookies!

IMO, the naming might a bit confusing ("dillo" has ssl, but "dillo2" is not...), which is why I hinted at the "dillo-ssl" name. I've seen packages as a regular build as "dillo" and a ssl version as "dillo-ssl", which is what I'd also recommend. This would also allow for the removal the older "dillo2" extension.

I will do it the way you proposed when the next version of dillo comes out, in the meantime I'll be doing some music with jack-ffado and qsynth as I don't have my build environment handy over GPRS...
