Hi there!
Is it possible to investigate, why gnumeric crashes?
Also, Palemoon is really old (I haven't compared-checked speed/memory consumption under Seamonkey yet).
Happy New Year!

Which version of tinycore are you using and for which architecture?
-
- both 32-bit/64-bit TCL 11.1 (which somewhat more often freezes under VM, contrary to TCL 11.0). The same is true for all the gnumerics 'recompiled for kernel 5.x'.
-
I'm not surprised that there's a problem with the x86 version of gnumeric.
The x86_64 version of gnumeric was compiled on CorePure64-11.x, so I'm surprised that crashes - did you run out of ram?
-
It never came to my mind since it briefly flashes even when run from a terminal, but not OOM, what are the system requirements, and does it start on your system? I think it is something different. The freezes I was referring to were related to the TCL 11.1 as a whole (and could not be investigated, but try to serf a little longer with palemoon), not to gnumerics.

Were you using Xvesa, Xfbdev, Xorg-7.7 or Xorg-7.7-3d?
If not Xorg-7.7-3d, maybe you could try with that in CorePure64?
Maybe you could start gnumeric from a terminal window to look for error messages?
-
Ah! Yea-h, you have recently updated Xorg-7.7! I've tried it with Xvesa right now.

(edited also my previous post)
A: under Xvesa
I've just tried bare TC iso both (32/64-bit) under VM (w/512Mb RAM) now, and no luck with 32-bit, and 64-bit reboots (!) upon "saving 'dbus.tcz'" (sight). Trying w/1Gb…
UPD: Ok, gnumeric installs, and crashes upon run… No luck, as the target host will not have more than 1Gb RAM, sad.

gnumeric works for me in both Core-11.x and CorePure64-11.x using Xorg-7.7 - I didn't try Xvesa or Xfbdev.

Thanks Juanito for saying it's workable. I've naïvely supposed Xvesa was a cut-down version of Xorg for memory sake. Things are clearer now.
