Title: Wifi dongles that work out of the box?
Post by: weblamer on February 16, 2019, 12:48:47 PM
Hey all.

I picked up an odd little terminal (sentech) that was running XP embedded off of a 2MB CF card. I managed to put tinycore on it and it is running surprisingly well.

The onboard Ethernet adapter works just fine, however I have tried 3 different wifi dongles that I had laying around and I cannot even get them recognized as existing.

I really do not want to mess with running commands, editing configs and so on. Are there any known wifi dongles that simply work out of the box, plug it in and tinycore immediately recognizes it?

Thanks.

Without installing any  wifi  related extensions you won't get far. At the very least, you should install  wifi.tcz  and read the
wifi.tcz  info.
