For a future of Xinutop version for Raspberry, finding too many contorsions in wicd to get su rights and too many depends, I am using wifi.sh (great script !) with some mods:
- Portable to any linux: suppress hook to tc-functions
- Rescan function: sometime necessary for weaks signals
- Replace iwconfig for connection by iw: iwconfig proves capricious on my Raspi 3+, iw work without problems.
The script join contain all original lines, commented with # when deactivation needed and with ## for adds.
