Title: Remove from menu and wbar
Post by: Guy on July 02, 2009, 09:26:13 AM
I think that some programs are included in the menu and wbar unnecessarily, and should be removed. Documentation should explain how to use them.

Examples

Cups

I suggest cups be removed from the menu and wbar.

Documentation should explain that /usr/local/bin/cups_start.sh needs to be added to bootlocal.sh.

Iptables

I suggest Iptables be removed from the menu.

Documentation should explain that sudo /usr/local/sbin/basic-firewall needs to be added to bootlocal.sh, for those who want to use the basic firewall.

Protecting the firewall menu item - I think it's good for users who wish to start it in the current session. Menu items aren't as much "in the way" as icons either, so IMO it's ok to have it, especially for users not used to the command line.

Cups

I suggest cups be removed from the menu and wbar.

Documentation should explain that /usr/local/bin/cups_start.sh needs to be added to bootlocal.sh.

It started out like that and then everybody complained about the lack of menu item/icon to get things started...

You could always modify your own personal cups extension to suit?
