Listed below are all the affected "SOC chip hearts" from ARM.
(list)= basically ALL arm cpu's in masses of handhelds in the whole world.
ARM sell 3.2 billion licenses per year and many of those chips are the "SOC hearts" listed below.

The ARM Cortex-A75 core is affected directly by both Meltdown and Spectre vulnerabilities, and Cortex-R7, Cortex-R8, Cortex-A8, Cortex-A9, Cortex-A15, Cortex-A17, Cortex-A57, Cortex-A72 and Cortex-A73 cores are affected only by the Spectre vulnerability.[49] This contradicts some early statements made about the Meltdown vulnerability as being Intel-only.[61]
i see that the Cortex A7 heart is not listed below.....that seems very suspicious to me since that "heart" is in oceans of devices.

This affectively means if you have a handset (droid) that's about 2 years old you can return it under warranty
since carriers are NOT releasing android patches over the airwaves for Spectre bug.
You see, my carrier here has not issued any OS upgrades over airwaves to my droid handsets. The OS on my handset is around 2 years old but not quite....but it's NOT a (safe patched) version of the Android OS on my handset.....yet the handset is still under warranty.
If it was even possible for me to manually patch the Droid on my handset (since my carrier is not patching it).....it would
still likely mean you have performance loss and the product is NOT what you purchased (intended spec). Therefor you should
be able to claim a warranty covered replacement of your handset ........due to the Spectre bug.
The same goes for half the worlds PC's that have been purchased in the last two years. These purchases by billions of
people could indeed be older wharehouse stock of new computers and indeed contain CPU's that are affected .....but still under warranty.
Corporations that deal directly with PC suppliers like HP and IBM sign extended warranty's with them for just such an event as Spectre/Meltdown. No corporation is going to want to PATCH windows
and loose performance without large compensation on IT hardware infrastructures that are still under warranty.
You must understand here that HP and IBM etc have "fully agreed signed licences" with Microsoft for all vendor hardware they release..... including the CPU's from Intel and AMD. They themselves would have to go back to AMD and INTEL for huge compensation..... while customers further up the line will just claim compensation from HP and IBM etc....

ps.. rasberry Pi's do not suffer from either bug.
